The First Yacht of the Sarp Yachts XSR Series

Designed with inspiration drawn from contemporary architecture rather than traditional yacht forms, the XSR series reflects a modern and dynamic character. The layout is conceived to naturally connect interior and exterior spaces, allowing enclosed areas to merge seamlessly with sunlight and uninterrupted sea views. Comfort and luxury are expressed in a refined manner, without compromising the yacht’s clean and natural design language. The result is an innovative and original design that maintains a strong modern and sporty identity.

Equipped with a parallel hybrid propulsion system, the yacht allows efficient low-speed cruising using electric power, offering near-silent operation and zero local emissions. In electric mode, the absence of exhaust gases and engine noise enhances the onboard experience, creating a calm atmosphere that allows guests to fully engage with the surrounding sea environment. The new XSR series by Sarp Yachts is designed to deliver a quiet, relaxed cruising experience while maintaining operational flexibility.

The hull is based on Van Oossanen Naval Architects’ patented Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF). This hull concept is engineered to provide high efficiency across a wide speed range, rather than being optimised solely for top speed. Additional advantages include improved seakeeping, reduced wave impact and enhanced onboard comfort. Compared to traditional hard-chine hulls, the FDHF demonstrates superior manoeuvrability and significantly better performance in challenging sea conditions. XSR 85, designed together with the Red team, while I was working @redyachtdesign as the chief exterior designer.
